This is a collaborative project between myself and Laura Rosseel (KU Leuven).

Aims

This project aims to document ongoing change and variation in the speech of Swiss-German speaking children. Earlier work on the language of German-speaking Switzerland has documented the use of Swiss-German on various linguistic levels and from different perspectives.

 

Where are we now?

We are now in the first steps of the data collection process: A class of primary school children in Winterthur has been contacted and most parents have agreed to have their child recorded.
